The gorgeous Sarah and Dave can teach us all a thing or two about living, while they live in the shadow of death. Dave has been battling worsening cystic fibrosis his entire life and never thought he’d experience love, marriage and family. But Sarah is by his side as his wife and carer and together they make every day special.

A beautiful, poignant love story just in time for Valentine’s Day, out now in Woman.

I couldn’t reasonably hope for others to allow me to write about them if I wasn’t happy to write about myself! Luckily I love writing about myself…For Valentine’s Day this year, I wrote a piece for Best magazine about my love of rom coms and how I came to realise that true life is nothing like the movies. Working with neurologist Dr Nour, author of the super new book True Love, I looked at how most Hollywood fairytales stop at stage two of the four stages of love, so it’s futile to compare their ‘happily ever afters’ to the reality of our actual lives. But in reaching stage four – true love – I have discovered a more authentic, interesting, inspiring and real love. Yay! Thanks hubby!

You can catch us in Best now and buy Dr Nour’s book here. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Becky was an absolute dream to interview, such fun and an open, honest, wonderful person. She’s in the current series of the Undateables on Channel 4 and we placed her story in Reveal magazine to coincide with the series.

Becky has severe scoliosis, a curvature of the spine, and spent many years feeling low in confidence, not helped by a series of awful dates with men who couldn’t cope with the fact Becky needs a wheelchair or crutch to assist her. But her journey through the Undateables has boosted her confidence and helped Becky see just what a fox she is.

Here’s hoping she finds the love story she so truly deserves in the near future. Catch her episode on All 4 now!

Extra big story this week – three pages in Best Magazine. Absolutely love all these champs, writing open letters to their future selves. I love this style of writing, it’s so powerful. We have Claire, advising herself on life after her three eldest sons flew the nest… Tracey, discovering what truly matters in life after fighting cancer (and celebrating the news of a new baby on the way – whoop!) and Lou, a divorcee looking forward to new beginnings in 2018.

Thank you all for working with me and here’s to a wonderful new year x

I would say it seems odd to think about Christmas while sipping on cocktails and topping up our tans, but let’s face it, summer’s a washout. It’s been raining for weeks… but, nevertheless it is sort of nearly Christmas, at least in mag land. In August, we start thinking about our Christmas ideas. By Christmas, we’re over at Mother’s Day.

Christmas stories…We are looking for any stories around the Christmas theme. Perhaps this will be your first Christmas with a long lost family member or your first Christmas since someone you love passed away. It might be your first Christmas alone, or maybe you love spending Christmas alone, or abroad, or both! Maybe you’ve lost weight since last Christmas or stuck to your new year resolutions in 2017. ANYTHING festive, get in touch today!

Ah… sun, sea, sangrias and husbands! Here we have the beachside meetings of Francesca and Rich and Laura and Gav, both couples met on holiday, came home and made it last. I love the moment when Laura met Gav in Ibiza and told him she was looking to meet the One, to which he retorted, well, you won’t find him in Ibiza. Turns out, she was talking to the One right there!

I do love summer’s excuse to write happy, feel good stories like this. Huge thank you to our couples for taking part. Out in this week’s Bella.

And found! Here’s the story of beautiful Bethany, a young lady looking for love on Channel 4’s Undateables. While her TV dates didn’t work out, a chap called Tom was watching and took a shine to our Beth. Through mutual contacts he got in touch and the rest, as they say, is history! Tom and Beth have been together over a year now and are madly in love. He tells her she’s beautiful every day, which is just what Bethany needed to hear.

Huge thanks to Bethany’s mum Bekki for sharing their lovely story with me.

Out in Take a Break this week!

While there’s no doubt Pippa Middleton looked beautiful on her wedding day, the reported one million pounds she spent on it seems rather indulgent to us… That kind of money could go a long way for a lot of people! Oh how the other half live…

In Reveal this week, Steff shares the story of her wedding, which was beautiful, charming, romantic, detailed, vintage, thoughtful and under £1000. Steff’s story perfectly illustrates how, with a bit of style and know-how, you can have a wonderful wedding day without going OTT.

Did you spend ludicrous amounts on your wedding? Do you regret it now? Or maybe you, like Steff, had a canny wedding day for a bargain price? We’d love to hear your wedding stories – get in touch today!

GraziaTheOne (Medium)As we get older, life gets more complicated. The chances of being the first person your boyfriend / girlfriend ever loved, are pretty slim. But what happens if he’s still in love with his ex? Then you’re in a pickle. He says he loves you, but she’s still hanging around like a moth to a light and you’re pretty sure you’re never going to feel like a priority. It’s a tough situation and one that Sam wanted to explore with Grazia in order to help other women in her position. As Sam said to us when we started working together, she can’t be the only woman going through this.

Grazia delved into the subtle disappointments Sam feels every time she sees her mother-in-law, who always ‘accidentally on purpose’ calls Sam by her son’s ex-girlfriend’s name and still has framed pictures of the happy couple adorning her walls. What’s Sam to do? She hasn’t got the answer, but we think Sam is absolutely lovely and we hope she finds a way to feel more loved in future, if not by Jack, then by someone more deserving.

DOYANCkellyMIrror (Small)Over the last decade, there’s been a swathe of ‘Turkish Love Rat’ stories in the UK media. We love them – British woman goes to Turkey, falls in love, gets screwed over. The reason I love this story so much is it completely turns that cliche on its head. Kelly did indeed fall in love while on holiday in Turkey, but her man, Ali, has been her rock while she’s battled incurable cancer. Their love is genuine, sweet and it’s forever. We need more stories like this in our media – happy, life affirming stories that give us all hope!

This was published in the Mirror a few days ago. You can read the full story online here.
