Isn’t this a gorgeous piece? After pop princess Kylie announced that she’s more likely to be a step-mother than a mother now, we asked Cath to share her step-situation with us. Cath is step-mum to four lovely children but doesn’t have any biological children of her own, so I like to tell her she’s basically Wales’s answer to Kylie.

The piece is a celebration of step-families, blended families, happy families – all the wonderful ways we make our families. Thank you to Cath for sharing! Out now in Bella.

Laura is an extraordinary woman. Handed a diagnosis that would give her every reason to say very bad things about life and the world we’re in, she’s nothing but lovely, beautiful, positive and determined. Her story is one of hope and love, not only Laura’s love for her daughter and her life, but of the love Laura’s friends and family have for her, raising an incredible amount of money to support her through her cancer battle.

Laura shared her story in Best magazine and you can help Laura out by clicking here

Here’s the lovely Kitten on yesterday’s This Morning, live from L.A at the unearthly hour of 3am! There’s an unfortunate time delay but Kitten deals with it like the pro that she is and shows us around her spectacular apartment. We organised this interview for Kitten after her story featured in Best magazine and there’s a few more interviews in the pipeline too. She’s such fun to work with, her character is every bit as pink as her apartment!

I’m really enjoying writing about sperm donation and single women seeking out this wonderful way of making their dreams come true. I’ve had a few articles published on this topic now and this latest one, in Reveal, is a fantastic celebration of women becoming mums despite not having found a man to parent with.

These aren’t necessarily career women who put off having children, but also women who never found the right man, or had health circumstances get in the way of something they always presumed would just happen the old fashioned way. When it didn’t, they stepped up. And now look at their gorgeous babies!

How beautiful are Michala’s kids?! Absolute stunners. This story in today’s Best celebrates a unique family. Michala created her children using a sperm donor and they are all full sibling. The idea of private AI (artificial insemination) has a bit of a shady reputation but Michala is testament to the fact that it can be done with professionalism and a mutual understanding of the rules. She’s lucky to have found a man like Martin who is altruistic, kind and considerate. All great traits for the man who has fathered three of her kids!

Out now in Best.

I have such a soft spot for writing about animals and the amazing humans who dedicate their lives to helping them – here we have Michelle, founder of DOTS – Dogs on the Streets – a charity set up to assist the homeless population in the care of their dogs. Michelle taught me so much I didn’t know about the homeless sector and it was so inspiring to listen to her and learn about her efforts to support homeless people and their dogs.

Happy World Down’s syndrome Day! Time for my annual love fest – click below to see a collection of the incredible families I’ve written about in the last year. I feel so incredibly fortunate to be able to use my pen (alright, keyboard) to celebrate so many inspiring young people. These are the game-changers, the rule-breakers, the cliche-defiers – while there’s never been more urgency to highlight what Down’s syndrome actually is (and not what medical professionals would STILL have us fear it is) these little legends are going about their legendaryness with aplomb. Just by being who they are, the ripple effect across society says We. Are. Awesome. So while NIPT (noninvasive prenatal testing) looms into view, the Down’s syndrome community are here to say #wouldntchangeathing.

So, so proud of Kathleen! Such an honour to get to write about amazing women every day. Do I have the best job in the world, or what?! Kathleen and her mum Denise invited me into their world and let me champion their lives. Now more than ever, we need to show society that Down’s syndrome is nothing to be feared. Down’s syndrome is to be celebrated. Quick, before NIPT (non-invasive prenatal testing) causes a dramatic decrease in the number of people born with Down’s syndrome. As Kathleen will tell you, her life rocks.

It’s me! And my chums! Here I am in Woman magazine writing about five very important friends and how their friendships have helped build me into who I am.

I love writing about my friends so this was a lovely experience, reflecting on friendships that go back decades (and one that goes back just a matter of months!) and what these little legends mean to me.

Huge thanks to my wonderful sister Tam, my friends Mike, Iszy, Emma and Mila, for allowing me to share our friendships with the world. Out now in Woman Magazine.

The gorgeous Sarah and Dave can teach us all a thing or two about living, while they live in the shadow of death. Dave has been battling worsening cystic fibrosis his entire life and never thought he’d experience love, marriage and family. But Sarah is by his side as his wife and carer and together they make every day special.

A beautiful, poignant love story just in time for Valentine’s Day, out now in Woman.
