I turned down Love Island to help Romanian dogs
My love of animals comes first…
Gina, 26, has an Instagram profile full of perfect photos, stylised settings and a body and face that clearly attracted Love Island producers.
But, when Gina was approached to be on the hit ITV show she declined, as her focus is only to help animals.
Not only is Gina on her path to train as a vet nurse in the UK, before lockdown she would spend all her time trying to help animals in crisis in Romania.
Gina first went to Romania alone at 21 after seeing a desperate appeal on Facebook to help dogs in winter at the shelters. She only meant to go for a few days but ended up staying a month to help dig dogs out of the snow and hand rear puppies.
She’s been back several times since, helping hundreds of dogs in crisis. Staying at a shelter with over 150 dogs, she was assisting with treatment and visiting shelters with hundreds more dogs, all of whom are available to be adopted in the UK.
She wants to be an influencer, but not in the now-traditional sense. She wants to influence young people to volunteer for a charity and be kind to animals...
